Video shows my kitplane partially built. I bought a used A65 Continental engine for it and needed to test it out. There’s no electric start on these old engines. For safety sake, I ALWAYS prop from behind the prop. ‘Was taught this a long time back. This way, the plane won’t mow you down if it lurches forward once it starts. Plus you have more of a chance to jump into the cockpit and control the throttle once the engine is running. It’s easier to get a grip on the prop on the backside rather than on front too.
