July 13, 2011. Prior to purchasing home at 4741 Williams Dr, I spoke with Robert Sperry at the Somerset Planning Dept about the house having a foundation already in for a garage and what would be needed to complete this if I bought the house. He found that it wasn’t previously permitted and checked to see if it would be permissible to permit it and finish it. He thought it should be OK.
May 7, 2012. Applied for the garage permit. Contacted the Health Dept since they needed to check to make sure the project would not interfere with water nor sewer. Need their sign-off before the permit can be issued. Also need to publish a public declaration (with the county records) that garage will not be used for living space.
May 8, 2012. County Health Dept. completed site survey and found it to be OK.
May 9, 2012. Filed my declaration with the County Records and went to the Planning Office and got my Construction Permit.
Also contact Yoder Construction to see if they’ll give me a quote for rafters.
